Authorship

HRB Position Statement on authorship

The Health Research Board (HRB) upholds and supports the objective that publication of research is an intrinsic part of the research endeavour.

The HRB believes that authorship is an important measure of an individual's involvement in research and that its researchers should be equitably acknowledged and their contributions should be fairly represented.

The HRB believes that authorship must be approached in a responsible manner, adhering to ethical guidelines and internationally accepted standards such as those of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Wellcome Trust Guidelines on Good research practice.
