Pre-proposals are currently completing evaluation. Successful consortia will be invited to submit a full proposal with a submission deadline of 22 July 2021.
Cancer Trials in Ireland 2021
A total of nine applications were reviewed at the Panel meeting held from 21 April to 23 April 2021. Panel recommendations will be discussed at the HRB Board meeting in June. Applicants will be notified of the outcome in early July 2021.
HRB Clinical Research Facilities/Centres (CRF/C) 2021
Following international Panel review, seven applications attended for interview at the Panel meeting, which took place from 22 March to 24 March 2021. Panel recommendations will be discussed at the HRB Board in May. Applicants will be notified of the outcome in late May 2021.
Collaborative Doctoral Awards in Patient-Focused Research (CDA) 2021
Eight leadership teams submitted their full applications on May 14. The applications are now undergoing international peer-review.
Ulysses Travel Grants
The applications are currently under review and the outcome will be communicated in June 2021.
Summer Student Scholarships 2021
The HRB awarded 62 scholarships in the 2021 cohort. Given the impacts of the pandemic, students have been given choice to defer the scholarship until summer 2022. Students who intend to conduct their research in 2021 but require minor changes to the project methodology as a result of COVID-19 restrictions have been requested to submit proposed changes to the HRB for assessment.

ERA-NET TRANSCAN-3 Joint Transnational Call for Proposals (2021)
The Joint Transnational Call “Next generation cancer immunotherapy: targeting the tumour microenvironment” opened 6 April 2021 with a submission deadline for pre-proposals of 29 June 2021.
Secondary Data Analysis Projects (SDAP) 2021
The Secondary Data Analysis Projects (SDAP) 2021 call is currently open. The deadline for submission has been extended by one week to 1pm Friday 4 June 2021, due to disruption caused by recent cyberattacks. We are monitoring this situation closely and will notify all lead applicants with any further updates on the closing date.
The Research Collaborative in Quality and Patient Safety (RCQPS) 2021
