Irish Platform for Patients Organisations Science and Industry

The Irish Platform for Patients' Organisations, Science and Industry (IPPOSI) is a unique organisation in Ireland and abroad. The platform brings together patient groups, scientists, clinicians, industry and other key decision makers to discuss and build consensus on issues relevant to all involved in delivering treatments to people with unmet medical needs. IPPOSI is not a lobbying group and as such has the ability to engage with a wide range of decision makers to discuss, inform and develop consensus views in key issues.

IPPOSI builds consensus through bring stakeholders together at major meetings or conferences. The outcome documents and activities are disseminated through the IPPOSI mailing list 9700 Irish and EU Stakeholders), the IPPOSI website, key Government Agencies and Departments and key networks in EU and Irish media agencies.

The office of IPPOSI has become the go-to for members and policy-makers to connect with disparate stakeholders in a complex health environment. There are a variety of issues relating to development of and access to new medicines and treatments and engagement of patients in health policy development. The office is also a useful advice and information facility for members to gain knowledge on recent initiatives/debates or to get linked into Patient Organisations, Industry of Science members in their particular field. IPPOSI plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between patients, science and industry and the decision makers.
