EU4Health

Action grants:

HaDEA has published 12 calls for proposals under the 2023 EU4Health Work Programme.

The topics include healthcare access, mental health, NCDs, cancer, Substances of Human Origin and medical devices.

The deadline for applications is 4.00 pm (GMT), 17 October 2023.

• EU4H-2023-PJ-01: Supporting access to medical devices for cross border health threats (HERA) (€1.75 M)
• EU4H-2023-PJ-02: Supporting stakeholders on the prevention of NCDs in the area of chronic respiratory diseases (€1 M)
• EU4H-2023-PJ-03: Preventing NCDs in the area of mental health including actions supporting vulnerable population groups, such as migrants, refugees, Roma people and displaced people from Ukraine (€2.36 M)
• EU4H-2023-PJ-04: Preventing NCDs in the area of dementia and other neurological disorders (€1 M)
• EU4H-2023-PJ-05: Supporting the implementation of the strategic agenda for medical ionising radiation applications (SAMIRA) – organisation of clinical audit campaigns as a tool to improve quality and safety of medical applications of ionising radiation (€1.5 M)
• Action grants on mental health challenges for cancer patients and survivors:

  • EU4H-2023-PJ-07: Sub-topic (b): European Code for Mental Health (€2 M)
• Action grants on the safety and quality of new Substances of Human Origin (Breast milk, faecal microbiota transplants)
  • EU4H-2023-PJ-08: Sub-topic (a): Breast milk (€0.4 M)
  • EU4H-2023-PJ-09 : Sub-topic (b): Faecal microbiotic transplants (€0.4 M)
• EU4H-2023-PJ-10: Action grants on Facilitating Organ Paired Exchange (€0.6 M)
• EU4H-2023-PJ-11: Program on orphan medical devices, in particular targeting paediatric patients (€0.5 M)
• EU4H-2023-PJ-12: Action grants to contribute to the organisations of conference and events (€0.45 M)

Procurement:

• Operations of MyHealth @ EU Core Services. HADEA/2023/OP/0025 (Est. value €0.5 million, deadline 3 October 2023).
• Capacity Building for Secondary Uses of Health Data for the European Health Data Space. HADEA/2023/OP/0024 (Est. value €1.5 million, deadline extended to 24 October 2023).
• Speed up the Development of and Access to Innovative Medical Countermeasures. HADEA/2023/OP/0036 (Total est. value €82.0 million, deadline 4 December 2023):
• Lot 1 Vaccines to combat antimicrobial resistance (est. €22.0 million)
• Lot 2 Broad spectrum antivirals against respiratory diseases (est. €18.0 million)
• Lot 3 Broad spectrum antivirals targeting viral families known for causing Viral Haemorrhagic Fever (VHF) (est. €18.0 million)
• Point of Care metagenomic sequencing for universal pathogen detection (est. €24.0 million).

Health Cluster 2024 Single Stage call topics will open on 26 October 2023 and close on 11 April 2024.

Call topics are divided into Destinations and include:

Destination 3: Tackling diseases and reducing disease burden

• HORIZON-HLTH-2024-DISEASE-08-12: Pandemic preparedness and response: Maintaining the European partnership for pandemic preparedness
• HORIZON-HLTH-2024-DISEASE-08-20: Pandemic preparedness and response: Host-pathogen interactions of infectious diseases with epidemic potential

Destination 5: Unlocking the full potential of new tools, technologies & digital solutions for a healthy society 

• HORIZON-HLTH-2024-TOOL-11-02: Bio-printing of living cells for regenerative medicine

Destination 6. Maintaining an innovative, sustainable and globally competitive health industry

• HORIZON-HLTH-2024-IND-06-08: Developing EU methodological frameworks for clinical/performance evaluation and post-market clinical/performance follow-up of medical devices and in vitro diagnostic medical devices (IVDs)
• HORIZON-HLTH-2024-IND-06-09: Gaining experience and confidence in New Approach Methodologies (NAM) for regulatory safety and efficacy testing – coordinated training and experience exchange for regulators.

Procurement:

• Study on the Quality of Life of Cancer Patients and Survivors. HADEA/2023/OP/0038-PIN (Est. value €1.5 million).
• Building Capacity and Knowledge for the Implementation of the EU Health Technology Assessment Regulation. HADEA/2023/OP/0032-PIN (Est. value €1.0 million)

Tenders are expected across 2023 in the areas of crisis preparedness, health promotion & disease prevention, cancer, health systems & healthcare workforce and digital.

The indicative budget is €24.5 million.

Horizon Europe Health Cluster

Health Cluster 2024 Single Stage calls are published and they will open on 26 October 2023 and close on 11 April 2024.
