Deaths among people who were homeless at time of death in Ireland, 2022
In this bulletin, data on deaths among people who were homeless and who died in 2022 are presented, along with a summary of deaths that occurred from 2019 to 2022. The NDRDI collects data on all deaths among people who were homeless at the time of death, to improve understanding of premature mortality among people who are homeless nationally, and to provide more complete and accurate national data to inform policy.
All people categorised as homeless at time of death, and whose deaths were reported to the coroner, are included in the figures presented. The bulletin includes information on the number of deaths, demographic data, circumstances of death, and cause of death based on data extracted from closed coronial file nationwide.
As the data come from closed coronial files, annual data are routinely updated when new information becomes available.
