Bibliometric analysis of HRB-supported publications: 2018-2022 Executive summary
Bibliometric analysis of aggregated publication data across a funder’s portfolio serves an important role in assessing the value placed by peers on research outputs, how much these research outputs are subsequently taken up in the research system, how a group of publications compares to similar groups of publications elsewhere, and what the trends are in terms of the development or decline of research fields.
In 2014, the HRB undertook a bibliometric analysis of all publications arising from grants made between 2000-and 2012. This was built on in 2018, by performing an analysis of the bibliometric impact of peer-reviewed publications supported by the HRB over the period 2013-2016.
This latest analysis, commissioned to Digital Science, comprises a detailed report over the five years from 2018-2022, with additional broader trend data included from 2000 to the end of 2022.
