Applied Programme Grants Scheme (APRO) 2023

33 applications were received by the 6 April closing date. They are now undergoing initial eligibility checks prior to peer review.

Fulbright-HRB Health Impact Award 2023

Decisions are expected very soon.

Secondary Data Analysis Projects (SDAP) 2023 Cycle 1

14 applications were submitted in Cycle 1, all were deemed eligible and underwent public and peer review. The applicant response phase was completed by the end of March 2023. The SDAP 2023 Panel Review meeting is scheduled for May where reviewers will make recommendations for funding in advance of the June HRB Board meeting.

Definitive Intervention and Feasibility Awards (DIFA) 2023

The board approved 12 DIFA 2023 awards following recommendations of an international review panel in March 2023. All applicants have been notified of the outcome.

HRB Postdoctoral Fellowships: Applying Research into Policy & Practice (ARPP) 2023

The HRB received 11 applications, all of which were eligible. They are currently undergoing international peer-review. 

Summer Student Scholarship (SS) 2023

The HRB made 114 awards in this round of the scheme. 155 applications were submitted to the HRB.

HRB Postdoctoral Fellowships: Clinician Scientist Fellowships (CSF) 2023

The HRB received 18 applications. The applications, all of which were eligible, are currently undergoing international peer-review. 

HRB Conference and Event Sponsorship Scheme (CES) 2023

The panel meeting for 23 eligible applications took place on 24 March 2023. 18 applications were recommended for funding by the panel. These recommendations have been approved by the HRB Executive Team and successful awards are now undergoing the contract stage.

Applied Partnership Awards 2022 (APA) Cycle 2

The call for applications for Cycle 2 closed on 1 February 2023.  21 applications are now under peer review, and applicants will have an opportunity to respond to reviewer comments in May.

Patient Safety Research Network (PSRN) 2023

Please Note: The closing date for applications has been extended to 31 May 2023. 

The aim of the PSRN is to bring together all relevant stakeholders to promote and advance Patient Safety research in Ireland. All interested applicants should contact the Lead Knowledge User Organisation, the HSE National Quality and Patient Safety Directorate (NQPSD), to express their interest in participating in a potential application (QPSI@hse.ie).

Secondary Data Analysis Projects (SDAP) 2023 Cycle 2

The scheme remains open for applications for Cycle 2, the closing date is 4 October 2023. 

The scheme supports bringing together researchers, knowledge users and data controllers to develop research projects that answer policy and/or practice-relevant questions through the use of secondary data.

HRB Rapid Response Mechanism to support Ukrainian researchers in crisis 2022 (Ucrisis 2022)

The grant scheme supports a named individual/s who have been displaced by the Russian invasion in Ukraine or who cannot return to Ukraine due to the invasion (and are being supported by the Irish Government under the Temporary Protection Directive). It is a rolling grant call with continuous intake and fast-tracked application review.
