Open Calls

ERDERA Networking Support Scheme

The Networking Support Scheme (NSS) is a continuously open call designed to knit together researchers, clinicians and patient advocates working on rare diseases and rare cancers. Proposals may be lodged at any time, but the first collection round will be assessed immediately after the 7 October 2025 deadline, allowing successful teams to start planning events without delay.

Under the scheme, applicants can request up to €30,000 per networking event to cover meeting costs, travel costs, hybrid-meeting platforms and other essentials. Rounds will be held every six months until April 2029 – or until the dedicated budget is exhausted -providing a response pathway for emerging collaborations of the partnership.

What is the aim?

  • To promote the exchange of scientific knowledge.
  • To empower underrepresented countries to join and contribute to rare disease and rare cancer research.

Who is it for?

  • Clinicians, researchers, patient advocacy organisations and research managers working in or building new or expanding research networks.

Applications will be open on a continuous basis collected every 6 months, starting 7 October 2025. Each event must gather applicants from at least three ERDERA countries and focus squarely on knowledge exchange in rare disease or rare cancer research. Meetings may run in person or in hybrid formats to maximise reach.

More information, such as guidance notes, evaluation criteria and the full list of eligible countries are available on the ERDERA website.

European Partnership for Personalised Medicine (EP PerMed) Education Call

The Education Call will provide funding (up to €50,000) to support the provision and development of educational content aimed at healthcare professionals (HCPs) in the implementation of personalised medicine (PM).

The gaps in the PM knowledge and skills among HCPs have been identified as one key barrier to the implementation of PM. This initiative will enhance the capacity of HCPs to integrate PM into their daily practice, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies.

The scope includes general and specialised education on PM and its implementation in clinical practice, interdisciplinary collaboration between HCPs, as well as effective communication of HCPs with patients. The courses will be designed and implemented collaboratively between selected consortia and EP PerMed.

The call aims to fund high quality content that will feed into online modules/courses, that will be collaboratively developed with the Digital Learning Team supporting EP PerMed. All modules/courses will be hosted and disseminated through the EP PerMed website and the eLearning platform designated by EP PerMed.

Application Deadline is 9 September 2025. For further information see Education Call: Guide to Personalised Medicine for Healthcare Professionals – European Partnership for Personalised Medicine – EP PerMed

European Partnership for Personalised Medicine Training in Research Data Management for Personalised Medicine

EP PerMed is organising a two-day hands-on training course on research data management (RDM) which will take place in  Paris, France on February 5 and 6 2026. Interested candidates will need to apply to EP PerMed and be approved to participate detailing their motivation.

The course will guide participants across the data lifecycle, highlighting the key challenges and questions to address at each stage, and showcase tools and resources that researchers can use to aid them. The course will feature theoretical sessions that promote group discussions, intertwined with practical sessions consisting of exercises in small groups, that allow participants to get acquainted with the tools and get involved in key RDM challenges.

Target Audience:

Tailored to the personalised medicine scientific community (researchers, clinicians, healthcare providers, lab managers), applying to EP PerMed, and other, potential funding schemes.

European Partnership for Personalised Medicine Research Innovation and Technology Call 2026 (EP Per Med RITC 2026)

Title: Test and Demonstration of Multimodal Data Approaches for Personalised Medicine (MultiPMData 2026).

This call aims to bring together enterprises with clinical actors, including healthcare providers, patients, and researchers, to test innovative solutions in controlled real-world settings to address clear needs in managing multimorbidity.

EP Per Med will fund innovation projects in human health that focus on multimodal data usage for PM approaches providing more efficient and personalised management of multimorbid patients, having at least two chronic diseases that require management. Projects will address one or more of the following aspects:

  • Detection or characterisation of co-morbidities in chronically ill patients;
  • Diagnosis, follow-up or monitoring of disease progression, including remissions and relapses;
  • Promoting a shift from in-patient to out-patient care through remote monitoring or reporting using wearables or other technical solutions;
  • Decision support for disease intervention strategies (e.g., medication type and dosage);
  • Tracking and managing multiple treatments (including drug combinations) to improve effectiveness or reduce adverse effects and potential harmful drug interactions;
  • Adherence to long-term treatment regimens.

Funded projects are required to test and further develop mature solutions in controlled real-world environments. They should also adopt a holistic system approach by integrating six enabling elements (knowledge integration; technologies, products, methods and processes; infrastructures; business and value models; policies and regulations; organisation; behaviour and values). Furthermore, proposals must clearly describe a robust strategy for the collection, processing, and usage of multimodal health data. The transnational consortia have mandatorily to include a clinical partner as well as at least one SME (small and medium sized enterprise) or industry partner. While clinical studies can be funded in this call, larger clinical trials are out of scope.

Horizon Europe Health Cluster and Cancer Mission 2026-2027

The 2026–2027 Health Cluster and Cancer Mission Work Programmes are under discussion within their respective Programme Committees (PC). Their official publication is expected for December 2025.

A new development on the preparation process of work programmes is that draft versions of the upcoming 2026–2027 Work Programmes have been made available on the European Commission’s Transparent Comitology Register.

It is important to note that these drafts are not finalised yet, and subject to change until their official publication at the end of 2025. Nevertheless, they are very useful for potential applicants to engage with the Work Programmes early and prepare effectively for calls for proposals as soon as they are published.
