Dr Claire O’Connell is a science writer and communicator. She writes about science, health and innovation for The Irish Times and has authored two non-fiction books with the Royal Irish Academy: Catching the Worm (with Nobel laureate Professor William C. Campbell) and Work. Life. Lessons from Leaders. Claire holds a PhD in cell biology from University College Dublin and a Master’s degree in Science Communication from Dublin City University, and in 2016 the British Association of Science Writers named her Irish Science Writer of the Year. She is the host of the HRB’s Health Research Podcast.
