Brian is programme Manager for Drug and Alcohol Research in the Health Research Board’s Evidence Centre. Head of Ireland’s National Focal Point to the European Union Drugs Agency since 2009 and oversees Ireland’s annual national report on the drugs situation. Manages the research and monitoring pillar of Ireland’s national drugs strategy and is a member of the steering group preparing Ireland’s new strategy 2026-30. He is editor of Drugnet Ireland, the HRB’s quarterly research and policy bulletin and manages the HRB National Drugs Library. Has authored peer review papers on drug and alcohol topics, strategic foresight and health literacy.
