As Ireland’s lead public funding agency supporting innovative health research and delivering data and evidence that improves people’s health and patient care, the HRB is committed to putting people first, and ensuring data and evidence are used in policy and practice to overcome health challenges, advance health systems, and benefit society and the economy.

The role of the Board of the HRB is to provide leadership; set strategy; ensure that human and financial resources are utilised to achieve objectives; review management performance; set the HRB’s values and standards; and ensure that the HRB’s obligations to its stakeholders and as a public sector organisation are understood and met.
