All HRB grant holders* who have:

  • a HRB grant that ended on or after 1 January 2019 and
  • a grant that was live on 1 September 2023

must submit their research outcome information on the new Researchfish platform. (*Seen note below.)

While Researchfish allows for real-time monitoring of outputs and outcomes and researchers are encouraged to update their report throughout the year, the submission period is a specific six-week window every year where researchers will need to update and submit their information on the platform

The Researchfish reporting process is separate from the HRB Annual Reporting process and award holders will be asked to complete both, where appropriate.  More information is available on our FAQs page

*Note: There are some grant holders who are exempt from the submission requirement. These are holders of:

  • Summer scholarships,
  • Conference and Event Sponshoship scheme grants and
  • Grants for which we are not the lead funding agency.

How to get set up on Researchfish

If your HRB Award is eligible for a Researchfish submission in January 2024, you would have received an email containing your invitation to access your HRB Award(s) on the Researchfish platform in December 2024. Once you confirm your account, you can proceed to finalise your profile and commence the submission process.

For detailed information on the submission process and guidelines, you can download the Researchfish User Guide for Researchers.

For any other queries you may have, please refer to the HRB’s FAQ page or feel free to contact the HRB team at evaluation@hrb.ie. If you require assistance with the setup of your Researchfish account, please reach out to support@researchfish.com.
