The Irish Statistical System Code of Practice’s (ISSCoP) quality assurance mark was awarded to the Health Research Board’s (HRB) National Drug Treatment Reporting System (NDTRS).
Commenting on the achievement, Dr Suzi Lyons, Head of National Health Information Systems at HRB said:
“This achievement highlights the HRB’s continued commitment to providing policy-makers, service providers and researchers with high-quality, independent and trusted data. Our goal here is to help ensure that policy and services are supported by the best data and evidence.”
The CSO developed this code to enhance the national data ecosystem, based on the European Statistics Code of Practice. A key objective of ISSCoP is safeguarding trust in Irish official statistics. To achieve this, official statistics must demonstrate independence, objectivity, integrity, and confidentiality.
The HRB manages four National Health Information Systems and NDTRS is the third to apply for and secure ISSCoP certification, following ISSCoP accreditation for our National Ability Supports System and National Psychiatric Inpatient Reporting System in 2024.
