HRB appoints Dr Sarah Craig as new Director of Health Information and Evidence
Dr Craig was previously Head of National Health Information Systems at the HRB and brings a wealth of experience leading large teams in managing health information, as well as extensive expertise in research and policy.

In her new role, Dr Craig will continue shaping health policy, enhancing healthcare delivery and driving broader research and innovation initiatives.
Welcoming the appointment, Dr Mairéad O’Driscoll, Chief Executive at the HRB said:
‘We are delighted to appoint someone of Sarah’s calibre to this influential role. We believe her expertise is what is needed as we embark on a new strategy where the evolving role of research and evidence for policy, practice and service planning will be incredibly important.’
Dr Craig said:
‘This is an exciting time for Ireland in the health data and evidence space. Initiatives like the European Health Data Space and Evidence Synthesis Infrastructure Collaborative are creating new opportunities and I am committed to ensuring the HRB and Ireland make a real impact in these areas.’
Before her time as Head of National Health Information Systems with the HRB, Dr Craig held research and policy roles in the National Council for Special Education and the National Economic and Social Forum. As the new Director of Health Information and Evidence at the HRB, Dr Craig will be instrumental in shaping the strategic focus for generating data and evidence to support health policy and practice decisions.
