Postdoctoral Fellowships 2020 – Applying Research into Policy and Practice (ARPP) 2020

Sixteen applications will be reviewed by a virtual international panel on Thursday 21 May. The recommendation of the panel will be discussed at the next HRB Board at the end of June.

Clinician Scientist Postdoctoral Fellowships (CSF) 2020

Eleven applications will be discussed by a virtual panel on Thursday 29 May. The lead applicants are currently responding to the peer-reviewers’ and public reviewers’ comments. The recommendation of the panel will be discussed at the next HRB Board at the end of June.

Summer Student Scholarship 2020 

The HRB communicated with the 57 awardees, their Host Institutions and their supervisors offering the students the choice to defer the scholarship until summer 2021, or to undertake the research project this summer, provided that they can adhere to Government regulations and recommendations surrounding COVID-19. If the project will be conducted in 2020, additional documentation will be required by the HRB to confirm details of how the research will be carried out, and how the supervisor will support the student and the project remotely.

COVID-19 Pandemic Rapid Response Funding Call

21 awards were made out of 165 eligible applications received following the recommendations of three virtual panels. Budget negotiations are almost completed with many awards starting as early as 11 May 2020.

The National PPI Network Call

The HRB and the IRC are now inviting an application for the establishment of a National PPI Network aiming to support and further build capacity for high-quality PPI in research throughout Ireland. The deadline for submission is 28 August 2020.
