Applications in progress
Collaborative Doctoral Awards (CDA) in Patient-focused Research
14 pre-applications are currently under review by an international panel. The panel will discuss those applications at a meeting in Dublin on the 28 February and will recommend a selected number of applicants and their teams to be invited to full application stage. Lead Applicants will be notified on the outcome in early March 2019 when the full application stage will also be opened.
Emerging Investigator Awards for Health (EIA) 2019
13 candidates were invited to submit a full application and will attend an interview on 9-10 April 2019 by an international panel. Approval of the Panel recommendations will be discussed by the HRB Board in May 2019 and the candidates will be notified shortly after.
Investigator-Led Projects (ILP):
We have received 133 eligible applications and are currently securing peer reviewers for each application. So far we have identified, checked for conflict of interest and invited almost 3,000 potential reviewers. Applicants will have the opportunity to respond to the peer reviewer’s comments for a ten working day period in April as per call guidelines. The panel meetings will take place in June, successful applicants will be notified after Board approval in early July.
Patrick Quinn Awards for Parkinson Research:
We have received two applications to the call which closed last week. Peer review will commence shortly. The panel meetings will take place in June, successful applicants will be notified after Board approval in early July.
NCI Summer Curriculum in Cancer Prevention 2019
Three individuals were selected for the Principles and Practice of Cancer Prevention and Control (8 July to 2 August 2019) and three others for the Molecular Prevention (5 to 9 August 2019) courses.
Summer Student Scholarship (SS) 2019
162 applications were received on 14 February 2019. HRB staff are currently checking eligibility before sending eligible applications for international review. The outcome of the review will be discussed by the HRB Board in mid-April and then applicants will be notified of the outcome.
European Joint Programme on Rare Diseases (EJP RD)
Seven applications with Irish partners have been submitted and HRB staff and the EJP coordination team are currently checking for eligibility before sending applications for peer-review. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of stage 1 application in early May 2019. Please note that applicants invited for full application stage will have approximately five weeks to complete their application.
