16 submitted applications are currently undergoing international peer-review.

Clinician Scientist Postdoctoral Fellowships 2020 (CSF) 2020

15 submitted applications are currently undergoing international peer-review.

Research Leader Awards 2020

Ten invited full applications are at panel review stage following international peer-review. The candidates will be interviewed by an international Panel on 15-16 January 2020. The outcome of the Panel recommendations will be notified after the HRB Board meeting in mid-February 2020.

Emerging Clinician Scientist Awards 2020

The peer-review of 12 full applications will be completed in late December and applications will then be reviewed by the Panel. The candidates will be interviewed on 28-29 January 2020. The outcome of the Panel recommendations will be notified after the HRB Board meeting in mid-February 2020.

Fulbright-HRB HealthImpact Awards 2020

The call is managed by Fulbright Commission Ireland. Currently applications are under review and interviews will take place in early 2020.

Collaborative Doctoral Awards (CDA) in Patient-focused Research

Three awards were made in the 2019 round and they will be announced soon.

European Joint Programme on Rare Diseases (EJP RD) – Joint Translational Call 2019

22 projects in total were recommended for funding with a foreseen budget of €30,5m (€6m of co-funding from the European Commission). One award with Irish partners will be supported by the HRB.

HRB Internship Programme 2019

Three positions become available following round one of the call. Interviews for round two of the call will be held during the week of the 6 of January 2020.

European Joint Programme on Rare Diseases – Transnational Joint Call (JTC) 2020

This is the second joint call under this programme. It just opened to pre-proposals on 18 December, with a deadline for submission of 18 February 2020. The topic of this call is to support ‘pre-clinical research to develop effective therapies for rare diseases‘.

Joint Programme Initiative on Healthy Diet Healthy Life: A call will open to support ‘Prevention of unhealthy weight gain and obesity during crucial phases throughout the lifespan (PREPHOBES)’.  The pre-proposal phase will open on 27 January with a deadline for submission on 3 April 2020.
