We can confirm that the Health Research Board recently discovered unknown activity on our IT system. We took immediate action to contain any potential issues and as a precautionary measure we have taken our systems offline. This has resulted in some interruption to services, but we have implemented our business continuity plan to keep disruption to a minimum.

We are investigating what happened and our investigations may take some time to complete. There is no suggestion at this stage that any personal data has been compromised. In the meantime, we are working with the National Cyber Security Centre and relevant authorities and will continue to coordinate with them as necessary.
