TRANSLATE-HIA supports the translation of findings to policy and practice from HIA-IM and a strengthening of integrated knowledge translation capacity. HIA-IM is developing an implementation model based on the process of doing HIAs on local and national policies. TRANSLATE-HIA will pave the way for implementing this model into practice to strengthen Health in All Policies in Ireland.
The KT activities:
Workshop: We will translate findings from HIA-IM by hosting a one-day knowledge exchange workshop attended by stakeholders including health professionals, key policy actors, PPI, and researchers. This event is important in enabling people to share learnings on HIA. The workshop will be held in University College Cork, delivered by the project team.
World Café: We will facilitate a world café during the workshop with attendees, in order to generate co-produced input from attendees, to inform educational material (Toolkit- iii). The world café is an opportunity for attendees to inform this Toolkit, which will be useful for stakeholders. The world café will run during the abovementioned workshop, delivered by the project team.
‘Getting Going with HIA- A Toolkit’: We will draw on HIA-IM learnings and co-produced inputs from attendees participating in the world café to create educational material- a Toolkit- to support stakeholders doing HIAs. This Toolkit is crucial because few pragmatic resources exist in Ireland for stakeholders to conduct HIA.
Briefing at the policy level: With the Institute of Public Health, we will co-deliver a seminar highlighting learnings from HIA-IM at the policy level with the Government Department of Health.
Infographic: We will create an infographic of ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ about HIA, with attendees from the workshop, developing a useful resource for stakeholders.
Video: We will strengthen knowledge of HIA with an informational video, with input from steering groups from HIAs conducted during HIA-IM.
