Positive Health Summit 2026: Connecting Communities, Inspiring Well-being

The Positive Health Summit 2026 is a national two-day event bringing together healthcare professionals, educators, counsellors, researchers, patient advocates, and the public to explore practical, evidence-based ways to improve health and well-being. The focus is on preventing noncommunicable diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and obesity while also supporting those living with these conditions.
Day One is dedicated to public engagement and advocacy. A series of interactive focus groups will gather insights from healthcare professionals, teachers, counsellors, educators, patient advocacy groups, and the general public to understand the key health and well-being challenges in Ireland. A dedicated session will explore how marginalized communities experience health inequalities, featuring voices from diversity and inclusion advocates. Additionally, representatives from Cancer Ireland, the Irish Heart Foundation, Diabetes Ireland, and Obesity Ireland will discuss ways to strengthen patient advocacy and improve health outcomes. The day will conclude with a stakeholder committee meeting, ensuring that input from the focus groups informs future initiatives and policy recommendations., using positive health science.
Day Two will shift to theory and research, featuring the latest insights from the Centre for Positive Health Sciences. A keynote speaker will showcase positive health as a transformative approach to well-being. The day will include parallel sessions on delivering evidence-based health and well-being interventions in different settings, with a focus on real-world applications. The goal is to bridge the gap between research and practice, equipping attendees with strategies to create healthier communities.
