The purpose of this project is to organise and examine the data which has been collected to date in a project looking at the receptive and expressive vocabulary development in twins versus singletons. To date over 200 parental reports have been collected and parental consent has been obtained so that the data can be used for research purposes.
This project will create a database using anonymised data collected. This will involve inputting all relevant background data and parent-reported information and carrying out statistical analysis on the data. Once the database is complete, the data will be analysed to examine differences in vocabulary comprehension and use in twins versus the matched control group of singletons. The vocabulary sizes will analysed in light of influecing factors such as gender, birth weight, zygosity and SES.
