The Irish Research Nurses and Midwives Network (IRNMN) exists to advance, support, and elevate the role of clinical research nurses and midwives across Ireland. Our mission is to strengthen research capacity, improve professional recognition, and promote high-quality, patient-centred research practice. We are the only dedicated network for clinical research nurses and midwives (RNM) on the Island of Ireland.
The RNM, by definition is an expert member of the research delivery team, who specialises in the management and coordination of research studies, and care of research participants, with emphases on patient safety; protocol integrity and research process; regulatory and ethical compliance; data management; education and advocacy. RNMs are instrumental in bridging the gap between clinical practice and research, ensuring the smooth conduct of research studies while prioritising patient safety and ethical considerations.
The 18th IRNM annual conference, themed: Future Ready: Clinical Research Nurses and Midwives at the Forefront of Tomorrow’s Healthcare, aims to prepare and signpost research nurses and midwives on the opportunities and challenges ahead, access to recourse to support future health care and connection with colelagues who they will work with into the future.
The Annual IRNM Conference is about, how research nurses and midwives, who make up 40% of the clinical trial delivery workforce (1), are prepared for future healthcare and how we can provide the very best care and opportunities for patients and public in Ireland.
