Evaluation of MRCP as a screening tool for pancreatic cancer in people with cystic fibrosis.

CFTR modulators have led to rapid increase in lifespan, but unfortunately, we are seeing increased incidence of pancreatic cancers in our patients with CF by their mid 50s. It is unknown what are pancreatic abnormalities at baseline for a PWCF aged 50, and whether there are identifiable and progressive changes over time which could lead to early diagnosis. We propose to analyze MRCP results already obtained over time through Dr. Freedman’s group at Boston Children’s Hospital/ Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, MA USA. Outcome measures include: baseline pancreatic abnormalities, genotype, anthropomorphic data and whether there are progressive changes from baseline over time.
