Connecting the paediatric research and innovation community in Dublin: CHI Research and Innovation Day 2026

Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) provides health services for children and young people across Ireland. We operate four children’s hospitals within the greater Dublin area and manage all national paediatric services. Excellence in research and innovation is one of our key strategic objectives. Evidence shows that hospitals involved in research and innovation achieve better patient outcomes and find it easier to recruit and retain the most talented healthcare staff and deliver the highest quality care. At CHI, we have a thriving research and innovation ecosystem that is supported by the Paediatric Academic Health Science Centre (PAHSC, our partnership with the four Dublin universities: Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin and Dublin City University) and collaborations with community groups, and patient and family representatives. CHI Research & Innovation Day is our annual showcase for research and innovation projects being conducted across CHI and the PAHSC. In 2026, it will include keynote addresses from leading national and international figures in paediatric research and innovation, a panel discussion, oral & poster presentations across a range of disciplines, and networking opportunities. The event will be open to the paediatric research and innovation community across the greater Dublin area. This includes CHI staff, paediatric researchers and innovators across the PAHSC, representatives from HSE Research and HSE Spark, representatives from paediatric medical charities & advocacy groups, and patient & family representatives. The outputs and outcomes of the event will be disseminated via our website and social media channels.
