A scoping review of the experience of adults with intellectual disabilities in ‘future planning’

With a focus on community living and a higher life expectancy for people living with intellectual disabilities, there are many people living in community settings and this project aims to identify how this cohort of people have found and view the concept of ‘future planning’.

The objectives of this scoping review is to
Gather current information, trends and characteristics of the experiences of adults living with an intellectual disability and ‘future planning’
Ascertain how this cohort views ‘future planning’
See how many of this cohort engage in ‘future planning’
What are their thoughts and concerns for ‘future planning’.

My proposed scoping review, if accepted by the HRB, will be registered with Open Science Framework (OSF) as a protocol and thereafter a scoping review of the experience of adults with intellectual disabilities in future planning will be completed.
