Annual report of the National Physical and Sensory Disability Database Committee 2014

This report presents data on the specialised health and social service use and requirements of people with a physical, sensory and/or speech or language disability. The information is based on records registered on the National Physical and Sensory Disability Database (NPSDD). The NPSDD is a voluntary database which is designed to capture information for service planning. The report is divided into three sections. Section 1 provides an overview of the total number of people registered on the NPSDD as of December 2014, (22,908 people) and the community healthcare organisation (CHO) areas in which these individuals reside. Section 2 profiles only those service users whose records have been registered or reviewed in the last five years (2010-2014) (14,584 people). Section 3 outlines current service use and future service requirements only for those individuals who were first registered or whose records were reviewed in 2014 (6,805 people.)
