Annual report of the National Physical and Sensory Disability Database Committee 2013
New report on disability service provision and future requirements Figures released today by the Health Research Board in the Annual Report of the National Physical and Sensory Disability Database (NPSDD) Committee 2013 show that demand for services remains high. The analysis in the report is based on 24,391* registrations in the database of those under 66 years of age. The report includes information on current service use as well as future service requirements for people with physical and sensory disability. This report is similar to last year’s report in that it:
Provides an overview of those registered in December 2013 (24,391 people).
Profiles only those records that have been registered or reviewed in the last five years (15,276 people).
Reports service use and future requirements1 only for those records that have been registered or reviewed in the last year (7,671 people).
Reporting in this way provides a more accurate and up-to-date picture of services used and required.
