According to Dr Annalisa Montesanti, Programme Manager at the Health Research Board,

'There is quite a tight turnaround for applications to this first call. The call is a two-step application, with a first stage pre-proposal submission deadline of 14 February 2019'.

Pre-proposals must be submitted electronically via the European Joint Programme Rare Diseases (EJP-RD) website'. (www.ejprarediseases.org)

This is a joint transnational call and lead applicants must apply as part of a transnational consortium. Researchers from any HRB-approved host institution the Republic of Ireland can apply as partners. If successful, researchers will be funded up to a maximum amount of €370,000 (inclusive of overheads and pension contribution).

Each consortium must involve a minimum of four eligible research partners, up to a maximum of six. The partners must come from at least four different countries participating in the call. No more than two eligible research partners from the same country will be funded. Details about the EJP-RD call are available from the HRB website.
