Charles Normand is an economist and Emeritus Professor in the Centre for Health Policy and Management at Trinity College Dublin. 

His is also part time Professor of the Economics of Palliative Care at the Cicely Saunders Institute at Kings College London, and is vice chair of the Board at St James’s Hospital.

Charles’ main research and policy interests are in the effects of population ageing on health and social care systems, and palliative and end of life care.  He is co-principal investigator on the Irish Longitudinal Study of Ageing (TILDA).
