Irish Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (ICRIN)

The creation of ICRIN is part of an ambitious project which will attempt to fill the remaining infrastructure gaps (human capital, physical infrastructure and information systems) needed to create a world-class clinical research capacity in Ireland. It is a coordination point between the medical schools at University College Dublin (UCD), The University of Dublin, Trinity College Dublin (TCD), The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), University College Cork (UCC), and The National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG), and also Molecular Medicine Ireland (MMI) as an umbrella organisation.

ICRIN engages with the constituent teaching hospitals to develop a harmonised and coordinated clinical research infrastructure where cutting-edge clinical research is carried out in a safe and regulated environment so that patients can benefit from the best interventions carried out under best international standards of ethics and Good Clinical Practice. ICRIN is Irelands representative on ECRIN, its European counterpart.

ICRIN receives matching funding from the HRB and the Health Service Executive.
