Health research is getting ever more complex, and operates in a complex environment. In some areas the HRB advances progress though facilitating collaboration between researchers, funders and countries.
Collaboration can involve:
- a research question relevant to health such as those addressed by a Health Research Centre or the Autism Genome Project
- national or international co-funders working with the HRB to establish world-class research infrastructure such as the Clinical Research Facilities or European Research Infrastructures
- collaborations between countries such as the Cancer Consortium
- awards that are about coordination of a research area such as the Irish Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (ICRIN).
