Experienced nurses and midwives who would like an opportunity to carry out research in Ireland in clinical nursing and midwifery, that will lead to a postgraduate qualification at masters or doctoral level.

The HRB invites applications for Clinical Research Fellowships in Nursing and Midwifery. These fellowships will provide nurses with the research experience necessary to develop their expertise as specialists in their chosen field of nursing or midwifery.

 

WHAT does the award include?

Awards are available for up to three years at a salary on the scale (€46,964, - €48,550 - €50,130). Up to €7,500 a year is available for running costs. A contribution will be made towards postgraduate fees.

 

Applications must be made using the HRB eGrants system.

 

A Research Strategy for Nursing and Midwifery in Ireland

This strategic framework, published by the Department of Health and Children in 2003, guides the development of nursing and midwifery research in Ireland. A research committee chaired by the Chief Nurse of the Department oversees the implementation of this strategy. The committee meets three times a year.
