What are the objectives of these awards?
The purpose of the student scholarships is to encourage an interest in research and to give the student an opportunity to become familiar with research techniques.
Eligibity criteria:
The scholarships are usually awarded to students who are studying at a university in Ireland.

The Watts Medal and poster competition
At the end of the project students complete a report. The authors of the eight best reports are invited make an oral presentation of their findings in the Watts Medal Competition. The Watts medal is named after Professor William Watts, former Provost of Trinity College Dublin and former Chair of the HRB. All students who receive a scholarship are invited to make a poster presentation of their findings and a first, second and third prize is awarded for the best posters.
