Clinician scientist awards

What were the objectives of these awards?

The purpose of these awards was to release outstanding, medically or professionally qualified, researchers in the health professions from some or all of their service commitments for a period of five years, to conduct world-class research.

Eligiblity criteria:

The HRB invited applications for the post of Clinician Scientist from individuals with a strong, internationally competitive track record in research. The applicants were either a medical consultant in the Irish health service or a senior clinician in a health-related discipline who was qualified to hold a post in the Irish health service.
