Research Training Fellowships for Healthcare Professionals (HPF) 2016 –The HRB Board approved the recommendation of the international panel to award 10 fellowships. All candidates have now been informed of the outcome.

Three applications were received for the targeted call for an Evaluation of the 'Pilot implementation for safe nurse staffing and skill-mix'. The HRB Board approved the recommendations of peer reviewers in May and the project will begin in June 2016. 

Cochrane Training Fellowships have now closed and 14 submitted applications will go for review. Applicants will be informed of the outcome in September 2016.   

The Research Collaborative in Quality and Patient Safety (RCQPS) is a collaborative initiative between the HRB, HSE and RCPI. The aim is to funding priority research questions to address national quality and patient safety issues. The prioritisation process for 2016 has been completed and the outcome will be announced in September. If you would like more information on this scheme please contact Brian Nolan, RCQPS Programme Manager at BrianNolan@rcpi.ie  

Interested in working with knowledge users in health policy or practice on priority research questions to inform decision making? Check out the HRB Applied Partnership Awards (APA). The first peer review cycle for the Applied Partnership Awards closed in May and submitted applications will now undergo peer review. The scheme remains open for the second peer review cycle which will close at the start of September. General information on the scheme is provided in the Guidance Notes or by contacting Sara Lord (slord@hrb.ie). If you would like to discuss a specific issue in relation to these awards please contact Donna Tedstone (dtedstone@hrb.ie).
