Dr Tom O'Callaghan

Dr Tom O'Callaghan

Dr Tom O'Callaghan is a practicing medical doctor and for more than 20 years has been on the frontline of developments in Primary Community Care, Health Systems Strengthening and Health Promotion. He has a strong vision for harnessing the potential of Primary Care in order to deliver targeted health care, alleviate the pressures faced by Ireland's hospitals and deliver savings to the State. He is Founder and Clinical Director of Livinghealth Clinic, Ireland's largest and multi-award winning, independent, not-for-profit Primary Health Care Centre.

A graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, he holds a Membership of Royal College of General Practitioners and Irish College of General Practitioners.

Dr O'Callaghan is a strong believer in sharing his knowledge. He has academic teaching posts in Primary Care in both University College Cork and University of Limerick. He is also the founder and CEO of iheed, which aims to provide leadership and funding in the development and implementation of innovative Community Health Worker training to improve global health.
