The NIDD was established on the principle of minimum information with maximum accuracy and four types of information are sought:
- Personal and demographic details such as date of birth, gender and level of intellectual disability
- The residential, day, and support services that are currently received
- What residential, day, and support services are required and when
- Additional information to assist with the administration of the Database
The Intellectual Disability Database National Planning Form (pdf) shows what information is stored on the NIDD. This information is updated a minimum of once a year for each individual who meets the registration criteria.
