- Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to examine the legal and ethical issues that should be considered before researchers commence genetic research which entails the study of the genetic basis of disease. The paper deals mainly with the legal and ethical concerns regarding the nature of the consent that should be obtained from biological/bodily sample/DNA donors who donate biological/bodily/DNA samples that will be utilised as coded samples by researchers for the purposes of discovering the genetic basis of disease.
