Accessing information

Service providers

Analysis of the data collected is provided, on request, to treatment providers, managers and taskforce co-ordinators who participate in the NDTRS. If you are a treatment provider, manager or taskforce co-ordinator, please request analysis from:

  • South Dublin (Dublin South, Dublin South City, Dublin South East, Dublin South West, Dublin West)
  • Dublin Mid-Leinster (Kildare and Wicklow)
  • Midlands
  • HSE South
  • North Dublin (North Dublin, North West Dublin, Dublin North Central)
  • Dublin North East
  • Donegal/Sligo/Leitrim
  • HSE West

Data is provided to the Department of Health and Children so as to inform policy.

Researchers

For researchers and all others requesting tabular data, the following information must be included in their request:

  • The research question(s)
  • The method of analysis
  • The exact data and data format required
  • The composition of the research team including the principal investigator
  • A statement that ethical approval has been obtained
  • The expected outcomes of the research (including the dissemination process)

If the request is considered valid and there is no doubt concerning violation of client confidentiality, the data will be released on the understanding that the data are used only for the purpose stated in the written request.
