HRB announces new funding scheme – Applied Partnership Awards
16 March 2016
The new scheme actively supports putting research into action for the benefit of healthcare policy and health service delivery. Applications must be priority-driven, nationally relevant and determined by the needs of the Irish health and social care system.
Update 8 April 2016: The HRB ran a webinar about this call on 6 April. Links to listen back to the webinar and download the accompanying slides are available from the both the grant notice, and the Grant webinar webpage below. End update.
According to Graham Love, Chief Executive at the HRB,
‘The defining feature of this new scheme is that researchers and knowledge users must actively engage as partners throughout the research cycle, from identifying the research issue and question, right through to using the research findings to influence policy and/or practice’.
The maximum amount that can be requested from the HRB per application is €200,000 (inclusive of overheads) and co-funding of at least 20% will be expected from the knowledge user organisation which must also be willing to invest time in the research project. Projects duration can span from 12-24 months. The closing date for the first cycle of applications is 6 May 2016.
