Translational Medicine 2010: Discovery to Delivery

This one-day symposium and webinar was jointly organised by Translational Medicine, Science Foundation Ireland, and the Health Research Board, and brought both Irish based and international experts together to explore translational medicine in the spheres of Cancer, Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine.

International speakers at the symposium included:

  • Dr John Rossi, Director of Molecular and Cellular Biology, and Dean of the Irell and Manella Graduate, School of Biological Sciences, City of Hope.
  • Dr Kenneth R. Chien, Director, MGH Cardiovascular Research Center, Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology, Harvard University.
  • Dr Jackie Hunter, CEO, Pharmivation Ltd.
  • Professor Paulo Fontoura Head of Translational Medicine CNS, Roche Pharmaceuticals.
  • Professor Adrian Hayday, the Kay Glendinning Chair: Peter Gorer Department of Immunobiology, King's College London School of Medicine, and London Research Institute, CRUK.
  • Professor Paul Harkin, President & Managing Director, Almac Diagnostics and Professor of Molecular Oncology, Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology Queen's University Belfast.
  • Prof. Molly Stevens, Professor of Biomedical Materials and Regenerative Medicine and Research Director for Biomedical Material Sciences in the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Imperial College London.
