Human Resources Strategy

The HRB is committed to be an organisation where all staff can enjoy a productive and balanced work life, develop competencies and progress their careers.

As knowledge based organisation with a leading role nationally to improve health through research and information the HRB aims to be an employer of choice in its field.

The HRB must be the type of organisation that attracts and develops people with the skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to achieve its mission. This means that the HRB must be clear about its objectives, clear about what it expects staff to achieve, provide feedback to staff on performance and support staff to learn new skills, develop new competencies and to increase their knowledge through further education.

The HRB recognises that a systematic approach to career development has an essential role to play in achieving this goal is committed to support the career development of staff and to develop their potential, to ensure that the HRB has appropriately skilled people to achieve the corporate strategy and goals. The HRB is an active Partnership committee, regular internal communications meetings, unit team meetings and regular social events that encourage staff to build relationships across the organisation. We plan to conduct a staff opinion survey every two years.

The HRB strives to support staff by providing a developmental, family friendly and inclusive work environment.
